Although I feel kinda foolish posting this small-town NJ race on this board with the long-course stuff, I just had to put the shout out to the organisers of this local (to me) race. It had its 25th running this past Saturday, and i have done the past 3 years. Every year it has been very well-organised, well-attended by the local townsfolk, policed expertly by the Franklin Lakes PD, and even Mother Nature has blessed it with most excellent weather (at least the last 3 years). I posted my usual 1h59m40s finish, but I enjoyed the race immensely and recommend it highly to NYC residents who fancy a good warm up ahead of the overcrowded NYC triathlon in July.
I did the race as well…and totally agree with you…Very well run race and fun as hell. They do a great job!
Great event and very well run. I have done it 4 years in a row. But they really need to get more bathrooms, and while I appreciate the whys of starting women before men, it got really crowded this year on the bike course. I can’t see any benefit to it in a race with 700 people and the women are getting only an 8 minute head start.
It’s still great and I will still do it next year.
Kudos to the organizers. This race was really well run. Check in was easy. Got marked right away. Course was well marked. Tons of volunteers and support out on the course. I was particularly impressed with how quickly results were posted.
This is the 4th year I have done this race and I will definitely be back again next year.
