No disrespect but is this a serious or sarcastic comment? Maybe when i bought the DVD I was expecting more.

Original poster is just a shill selling the dvd. Check out all 4 of their posts…

“What It Takes” was about a C+ in my opinion. I fell asleep watching it.

“Showdown”, like “What It Takes” was created and produced by two people. I was the editor on both, and the director was Peter Han. I wanted to take a moment to clarify that the original post in this thread was not written by anyone associated with the film, and I suspect that it was someone who enjoyed “What It Takes”.

Eugene – I’m sorry to see your enthusiasm for our latest film resulted in you being called a “shill”.

Our goal as both filmmakers and triathletes, is to do our best every time we step up to the line to compete. After working on both films, I think “Showdown” is targeted more towards athletes who want to know more about the professional runners and their lives in the months leading up to a major race. With “What It Takes”, our goal was to bring the human stories of four professional triathletes to the movie-going public and we took the human interest approach as we pursued a major distribution deal. In the absence of a deal, we wanted to self-release the DVD.

We’d like to thank all of you who have supported us as we attempt to increase the visibility of endurance sports through documentary filmmaking. In creating “Showdown”, we listened to feedback on this, and other online forums, and tried to make a better film that was more targeted to the athletes in the sport – by showing more training and racing, and not dwelling on the “human interest” portion of the story. So, as in life, we continue to learn what our audience is looking for, and are just two people looking to tell stories about the sports we love to both participate in, and watch.

For those of you who purchase “Showdown” or “What It Takes”, I truly hope you enjoy them. For those of you who didn’t, I’m sorry we didn’t live up to your expectations.

Sincerely,

– Andrew Ernst

Because of you selling it on here for your own good, I will not buy it. If I hear it is good, I will pirate a copy.

Maybe you are confused about the ending…

"Again, the new movie is available on DVD now, so please feel free to pass this
onto your runner and endurance-sports friends! We are an indie-film crew that
depends on word-of-mouth support so that we can continue to make films on topics
that you enjoy.

But this is a quote from a website and not writing from the OP. I

Thanks for making the movies. I am happy to see endurance films made available and look forward to watching showdown.

Look at the only four posts this guy has made and tell me if he has some kind of stock in these videos or not.

I can agree that it looks suspicious that Eugene’s posts only are related to our product. However, I don’t know anything about it – and when it comes to our films, we do all of our marketing in a straightforward, press-release manner, with the occasional post on forums (using personal accounts of either Peter, his wife, or my accounts).

then you need to fire your ad agency/neighbor or whoever he is. That was a lame attempt of guerrilla marketing.
