Sorry, this isn’t really an Obama thread. I heard on the radio that now the term “My President” is being used as slang when talking about another person; as a replacement for the “N” word. I find this is a bit amusing because Mr. Obama is half black and half white. So, if a white person calls someone “my president” will that be the same as using the “N” word?
"From Urban Dictionary:* President is the new hip term for saying words like nigga, nigger, niggy, niglet, negro, african american, or any other synonyms of the afarensis species. Since our current president of the united states is a black man, you can say president and it will mean black. “Hey whats up mah president” = “Hey whats up mah nigga” *
He’s not half black, half white rather: 50% white, 43.75 arabic and 6.25% African negro. His father was from Kenya and his father’s family was 12.5% black and 87.5% Arab. In a nutshell, he’s a American…and I like that about him.
“His father was from Kenya and his father’s family was 12.5% black and 87.5% Arab.”
Huh? As in descended directly from immigrants from the Middle East? Or just Muslim.
There is a big difference. Believe me, I have lived in that part of the world.
It’s funny how everyone is freely mixing citizenship, religious category, ethnic group, and assume they are disjoint groups…
For instance, you can be black AND Arab, or black and Muslim, or Arab and Muslim, or Arab and Catholic, or…
I completely agree, which is my point of clarification.
He’s multi-racial, which is something our country should be embracing with its President, not avoiding. I’d be saying the same if Colin Powell was my President…which, at this point, I wish he was…
There was a video from a news channel in New York where, a lady was interviewing people about the word “preisdent”. One guy in the video said yeah we know the n word is derogatory, and some other guy talked about how hard it was to use president while rapping. But I think the vid has been taken down cause I can’t find it anymore, reguadless I think its awesome.
