WTC = English as a Second Language?

I grabbed this off the IMC site, talking about Gordo:

“In oxygen debt, he reverted to getting himself back together by doing the back stroke until he could rid the lactic acid build up and get his breathing under control. After he completing the swim he sat at the bike bag racks shattered. While attempting to get him self ready for the 180 kilometers bike leg a volunteer suggested he be see by a doctor.”

You’d think, with the money they make, they could hire someone with basic literacy skills to proof-read their site. This kind of word salad is common for their site. It makes most of the stuff on there unreadable. I start an interesting article then spend the next ten minutes proofing it for them, in my head.

It’s a bloody shame, really.

Or, perhaps in our post-literacy age I need to lower my expectations…

It makes most of the stuff on their unreadable.

I think you mean “it makes most of the stuff on there unreadable”

Winner.

Actually, I meant to write ‘on their site’, but there you go, it is easy to make the odd mistake, as a sole poster, in something of a hurry.

Doesn’t quite compare with ‘he be see by a doctor’ on the website of a multi-million dollar corporation, now does it? And if you check their articles, they are frequently that bad. I just don’t get it. You can hire proof readers for pitifully low wages. Hell, even the computer checkers are not so terrible. But they have clearly not done this, such is the error rate in their website.
