What is the difference, if any, between IMNA and the WTC?
Totally separate entities.
WTC is owned by a Dr. Gill and family. Rich Florida ultra-religious eye doctor or something. There was an interview with him in the past year somewhere, either one of the tri magazines or online, I don’t remember. WTC owns the Ironman–the race in Hawaii and the name (and therefore the licensing and rights which other race directors get to pay for to put on races with Kona slots).
IMNA is Graham Fraser’s outfit. They put on races in North America (therefore, the NA part)–IM Canada, Wisconsin, Florida, Coeur d’Alene, Lake Placid and Half Ironman California and Mickey Mouse (am I missing any races?)
