A good friend of mine is looking for a Zipp 404 front tubular wheel. He picked up an 808 rear powertap and now he’s looking for a front before race season starts.
Figured I’d ask the Slowtwitch crew if anyone has a 404 front available.
I’m guessing he would be interested in other brands that are 50mm-ish also. Let me know what you have so I can pass it on. I do know that he rides tubies so no clinchers.
I have one. I haven’t used it in almost two years; in fact I didn’t use it once after August 2012. It’s a 2012 FC with an almost new Conti Competition 22mm on it, rolled only for a single Ironman. It was my windy day wheel for my road bike that tended to get a little interesting in a crosswind with an 808. After I got a proper TT bike in 2013, I found I’m so stable I can keep my 808 on in any conditions, so there’s little point in keeping the 404.
I’ve removed the Zipp stickers for my “stealth” bike, since I don’t believe in advertising for any company who I’VE paid huge dollars for, but otherwise it’s like new. I’d say it has no more than 300 miles / 500 km on it. Never dinged, crashed, scuffed, marred, damaged, tweaked, banged, abused or otherwise mistreated in any way. I have pics of it during the 2012 Ironman I raced with it, which like I said, is the last time it was used. Make me an offer that isn’t unreasonable, and please pay all shipping and PayPal fees.
