WTB: Ultegra 9sp Octalink 68mm (English)

Need a BB that is 9sp Octalink, English.

Anybody got one for cheap???

Interested in a Dura Ace, or do you want the cartridge bearings?

I have 3: 2 doubles (109/68) and a 1 triple (118/68). All used about 2 seasons.

$35 for each one shipped. $90 for all three.

I just need the BB, but if you have a DA 172.5, I’ll hear your price.

Oh - it’s just the BB. But the D/A version is loose ball bearing and the Ultegra and 105 are cartridge bearings I believe. The main advantage of the D/A is weight. However, if you are building up a commuter or cross bike, you’ll spend a lot of time cleaning/maintaining it. The Ultegra and 105 bearings are sealed.

I want the Ultegra BB for the reasons you stated.

The other poster indicates he/she has the BB for $30, but I think I found one online that is new for $35… is that about right?

That sounds like a pretty good price to me, but it’s been a couple of years since I priced one…

If you can PM me with that link to the $35 6500 BB I would greatly appreciate it!

Oh, looks like that price is GBP and not USD.

What is the difference between Ultegra Octalink 6500 and 6600??

I don’t think there is a 6600 Octalink BB. The 6600 should just be a cup set.

Also 35 GBP is still a pretty good deal…they’re tough to find in stock as I’m pretty sure the 6500 BB has been discontinued.

FWIW- the 105 5500 BB is pretty much the same.

Probikekit is probably your best bet for a new BB. They have the 105 for 31 pounds. Sometimes they have discounts and free shipping to the USA.

Oh hell, I want to get rid of these damn things. How about $65 for all three shipped?

I think I’m finished with Probikekit… last shipment was delayed and assessed duty… if I have to pay duty, there is no $$ savings.

PBK as well as most online dealers are either perpetually out of stock on the 109 /68 English thread 5500-BB or charge a premium which may make this a LBS purchase.

If I already didn’t have an extra in the parts box around I’d be all over Jens’ offer.

Yes, Jens has a good deal… that I’m considering…
