So my little brother is hooked on triathlon, which is pretty sweet because we have spent way more time together training in the past six months then we have maybe our entire lives. He is 13 years younger then me so it is very cool to see triathlon span the age difference.
He is signed up for his first Olympic triathlon this summer.
He has himself a pretty decent road bike - but needs/would like some other things. Just finished up his sophomore year in college so his budget for tri related stuff is pretty non existent. I would love to try to help him out as best I can but I am a high school teacher with a brand new 3 month old baby so my budget is small as well!
Not looking for handouts - but if you got something lying around, maybe we can work something out!
What he needs:
wetsuit - not picky, sleeves no sleeves, some dings whatever… he is 6’0 about 180
What he would like:
aerobars: again not picky …anything clip on would be great
Fast foward seat post: aluminum
pedals: he has baskets currently and has hand me down shoes in which he could use…but just doesn’t have pedals.

I have so older look pp396 pedals and a medium zoot trifit sleeveless top. The pedals are well worn but fully functional. The jersey is one race from being new with tags. I have a one-piece trisuit less than a year old with very little use, as well as some Look classic style pedals (ie. not Keo’s, but in VERY good condition) that I can sell you for cheap, if you are interested. PM me if you are.
i have a set of profile carbon stryke aerobars. they are the ski-bend clip-ons - nothing especially fancy, but very functional. i can dig out the spacers for standard handlebars (non oversize).
they are used, with superficial marks from being adjusted/tightened, but are in great functional shape (and, they’re carbon!). very adjustable for width/length.
if he needs bike jerseys i have 4 size medium that i’ll send him for $44 and i think one’s never been worn. one is a sugoi “hawaii” theme, one is a voler local shop jersey (new), one is a used t-mobile jersey and i can’t remember what the other one is.
i don’t have any tri-shorts but i think i may have some old desoto tri tops in medium if he needs any of those.
