Brother in law took the plunge and signed up for a 70.3 and now needs a bike. He does not want to spend a ton but was a decent/reliable bike. Looking at size 56 or Large. He is 6’1’'. Let me know what you got. Thanks.
I have a 54cm 2006 Scott Speedster S10 that I’d be interested in selling. I was actually going to have it shipped out to me on deployment and had it professionally boxed up by my LBS but wound up not sending it. I bought it new and it turned out to be slightly too large for me so I didn’t ride it much and wound up using it indoors mostly. Got about 500 outdoor miles and probably 200 hours on a trainer. Groupset is Shimano Sora, all in good working condition (regularly cleaned, lubed). Chain is new. Only thing that’s not like-new is the triple chainring would drop the chain often from the smallest gear, so I jury-rigged the FD to only shift between the mid and large ring. It shifts smoothly between the two, but if he really wanted it reset, it’s nothing that a LBS (or bike-savvy individual) couldn’t readjust for you.
I’m probably never going to ride this bike again but have been holding onto it for lack of a good home to send it to. Let me know if he’s interested and I’m sure we can work something out.
