I am looking for some Shimano 8 speed bar end shifters. The only problem is that I don’t have a lot of funds to do my upgrades. So if anyone out there has any or happens to know someone that may be willing to part with some for cheap, please let me know. Thank guys.

FWIW, you can also use 9/10 speed bar end shifters with an 8 speed set up if you keep it on friction instead of indexed. I did this w/ an set of 9spd bar end shifters I had sitting around when I revamped an old 8spd rig. This might open up your search a bit.
The only thing is that I am actually running a 7 spd setup. My local shop said that it would only be able to do 7 or 8 spd shifters. But if I understand you correctly, 7, 8 or a 9/10 shifter would work if set in friction. Am I getting this right? Also, what exactly are the details of friction and index? Sorry for the newbi question.

I have 3 sets of 8 speed shifters. I’ll sell you all 3 sets for cheap, $45. That way you can use the best ones. They are in very good condition. The only reason I have them is because I recently moved to 9 and 10 speed.
I also have about 10 8 speed cassettes. Mostly DA and Ultegra. One is an SRP Titanium. If you need those, let me know…I’ll sell them cheap. They’re just sitting in a box.
