Hello, I am looking to buy a road bike to ride when I am not training with my tri bike. I am 6ft1, I ride a 56cm tri bike, but am not sure how that transfers over to a road bike (I am assuming they are the same). Nothing over 800 Dollars, so I am most interested in used bikes of decent quality rather than new bikes of low quality. However, if you think you have a good match for me, let me know.

You could get this. Then you can race cyclo-cross or put road tires on it to ride on the road, having the compact crank is nice too.
Anyways, look at this website to get an idea of what you could afford new, then apply that to the used bikes you see. I’m guessing you need a 58cm frame too.
At 6’1" you might want to think twice about getting a 56. 58 or even 60 depending on how you like to to fit.
Slowman had a few 60 cm bikes for sale. Nice rides too!

I just upgraded to an Orca. I have a 2005 Trek 2100 56cm. Here is the specs http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2005/archive/2100
All components are as in the link. The tires are new. It has about 2000 miles, never crashed or wrecked. Few nicks here and there. I can send you pics to your email address if you like.
I am just a tad over 6ft and it fits me fine. (I was fitted by Free Flite in Atlanta).
I was going to list it on ebay. They are going for around $900 but I will let it go for $800 + actual shipping to avoid the hassles.
Let me know,
One more thing. This one has the triple chain ring on the front.
I’ve got an 06 Felt F75. Size 58. Great shape. I can email pics. I’d like $900 but I’m open to offers. Shipping additional.
Thanks Rick
I have a 2003 Giant TCR Composite Team, size large - 58.5 cm top tube and 55.5 set tube length and components that include 13cm Cinelli Solido Stem, 44cm Cinelli Solido aloy bars, Selle Italia Flite saddle (Ti rails) on an FSA K-Force seat post. FSA Team Issue Carbon Crankset (ISIS), Campagnolo Centaur, Veloce, Mirage component mix, Matrix ISO clinchers w/Campagnolo Record Hubs (wheels are true but rear wheel bearings need servicing) that is in your price range. Honestly though for $800, you could head over to your LBS and find something brand new that will work and most likely include 1-years service and manufacturers warranty.
