WTB - Lightweight Tubular Wheelset

I’ve been racing on my Race Lites for far too long. Looking for a set of lightweight(1400g and down) wheels to throw on the road rig. Want to climb for great justice.

Shimano. Used or new. I have little brand loyalty. Bonus if in MN. Whaddya got?

Brand new set, Shimano, never had a tire mounted. Don’t need them as I race Hed 3s. Here is info from Reynolds website https://www.reynoldscycling.com/uploads/items/dv3kt_hdr.jpg

Whether you’re chasing prize money, upgrade points, or just a little respect from your weekend riding buddies, you’ll appreciate the killer performance, style and value of the DV3K T. The lateral stiffness and overall durability are products of our advanced carbon layup process; the aerodynamic performance comes from a 46 mm rim depth; the acceleration, handling, velocity and stability are products of superior Reynolds wheel technology, including our Vibration Management System (VMS). Its durability and great looks mean you’ll want to use it for every riding situation. With that kind of return on investment, you’ll find the DV3K T is a wheel whose beauty is practically unlimited.

I looked at the 3K’s a little while back. Super super nice stuff, no argument there. If I had some serious scratch, I’d definitely send an offer your way. I’m afraid they’re too rich for my blood though, unless you’re looking to give what would essentially be a donation of a deal.

Always open to creative cash/trade offers? Got anything to trade? This is much more fun, it is reminiscent of childhood baseball card trading…just involves a little more money

How about these?

New in 2006. Original Zipp 202’s, the ones with the reddish tint. Tubular. 28 spokes radial front and 28 three cross, both sides rear. DT Champion spokes. DT 240s hubs. Ceramic bearings. 1240 gms. About 1500 miles. In Richmond, VA.

PM me if you’re interested.

these are a set of Bontrager carbon xxx lite wheels, 700 c tubular, 50mm. I only raced on the wheels and they have 300 miles on them. I got them in 04 and paid $1500. Great wheels.

What are you looking to spend?

I have a set of rarely used (last time at Master’s Nationals this year) Reynold Stratus DV-UL (46mm tubulars prior to the model name switch). These are the ultralight versions that are only 1080g! (actual weight on my scale) per set! They don’t get much lighter. Have a pair of Vittoria Evo Corsa CX glued on now. True as they come.

I have WAY too many wheelsets and just acquired a new set with my new road bike

Yeah, but I don’t think you’d trade your mint Mickey Mantel for any of my bent-up Kent Hrbek’s…

How much are you looking to get for them?

Pictures?

Ooo, again, impressive stuff. How do you guys all just accumulate mass amounts of cool crap like this?

I’ll say this, though: As far as I can tell, that set retails for around 2k, and I can’t come close to that. The most I might be able to dole out is around 1k.

1080grams… ridiculous. I’m pretty sure my spokes weigh more than that.

i am asking $500 plus shipping for the wheels. let me know and i will send photos.

I can read, but I have had an equipment tragedy this weekend (backed over my front race wheel with my car and now I am in a scramble to replace it before my last race of the year)…if you can go $1,500 I will sell you the Reynolds set…

I have a set of nimble flys that I am looking to get rid of. Pretty good wheel, and super light. Looking for $500.00 but am flexible on the price. I even have extra tyres I will thrown in too.
