WTB: bar ends, Brake calipers, crankset, deraileurs, cassette

Looking for some parts to a frame. I don’t have a lot of cash, but any old stuff that I might be able to use for cheap for a stop gap would be awesome. i’m a poor college student taking summer classes (pity party). I prefer 10 sp stuff as I plan on getting 10 speed bar ends, but 9 speed will do. Changed my mind. Going to do 9 speed.

  1. brake calipers- 105 or ultegra level
  2. crankset 172.5 or 175- don’t care what brand GOT IT
  3. front and rear deraileurs- 105 or ultegra level GOT IT
  4. cassette- depends on crank I get- maybe 11-23 or 12-23 GOT IT
  5. bar ends- 9 or 10 speed GOT IT

Thanks!!

I have a bunch of old stuff I can part with…cheap!!

** Ultegra triple 9 spd (175mm) very good condition with chain rings - $40

** New set of drop bars - $10

** If 8spd cassttes will do I have about 10 sets (everything from 12-21 to 12-25) - $50 for ALL

** Lots of DA and Ultegra bottom brackets - even a titanium one - $15 take your pick

This stuff is sitting around and everything is in very good to excellent condition.

If you are interested make me an offer.

Good luck on your bike build!

Sorry, I need 172.5 or 175 for the cranks.

I’ve got a 105 9 speed crankset. The arms are 172.5 and the rings are 53/39. The cranks are brand new. I’m looking for $45 plus shipping.
Let me know!

I have a set of 9 speed ultegra brakes, that were taken off my bike with under 100 miles on them, so they look as new. Let me know what you think a fair price is. I’ll ship by USPS Priority mail within the con-US.

Can any 9 sp brakes be used on a 10 sp bike? My belief is that they can.

Yes, they actually came on an otherwise 10 speed bike. They just look different.

In an 9-10 speed mixed bike, the only parts that must match are the shifters, chain, and cassette. This is voodoo magic to many who want to upgrade a 9 speed bike to 10 speed. You can still re-use both deraileurs, crankset, chainrings, brakes, etc. Just the (rear) shifter, chain, and cassette need to be swapped. Just like on an 9 speed bike if you bust your cranks or deraileur, you can replace it with the 10 speed unit (since 9 speed is getting harder to find, as shimano considers the 10 speed parts to be a direct replacement for them.)

I still need some brakes and a set of bar ends.

I have a pair of 9 speed bar end shifters, Ultegra I think. I’m going to use one of them in two weeks at IM CDA because I have not switched the front deraileur shifter to ten speed yet and I don’t want to do it until after the race. You know, never do anything new on race day thing. If you can wait three weeks or so I’ll sell you mine for $40 plus shipping.

Cheers,

Dave

Just bought a set of 9’s off ebay for $54 new. All I need now is brake calipers.

Ultegra 9 brake calipers with under 100 miles. $60 by paypal includes USPS shipping.
