WTB and/or advice bike travel case

I am looking to buy or simply advice on what bike boxes are good deals and work well. The Tri All 3 sports ones look to be the best, so if you’re selling one of those, let me know!

nashbar has a pretty good deal going on now…

the pro bike case… 40% off plus 20% off…

Hey Alex, great to see you on here! (it’s T.L.) I’d look for a clamshell style if I were you and pretty much those all seem to be the same basic design with the newer Trico Ironcases have a bit different wheel placement. They are the easiest to fit into cars and are pretty simple to lug around. We’ve got a Tri All 3 VeloSafeII which works really well for us when we take both C’s and my bikes, but is quite a bit harder to deal with vehicle-wise and it’s obviously heavier and may cost more to get on a plane. When it’s just her bike, we have borrowed a friend’s Ironcase and had no problems with that. Congrats again on Kona!

I have a tri all three two bike case I can sell you at a good deal.

The nice thing about the All three sports case is you can use it for a hotel room if the local hotels are full. I had to rent a mini van to get the thing from the airport to the last race I did. But it is big enough to haul a bike, two sets of wheels and all of my clothes.

Find Speedy on this board and buy the softside akona biospeed. Never get charged never any damage

What does he tell the counter person checking the bag? They always ask me whats in the box “and I work for the airline”.
The thing that get’s me is people shipping foldable displays for an expo or something like that can ship twice the size and weight of a standard bike box for free.

Three options

  1. Lie
  2. Dodge the question (say sporting equipment)
  3. I ship one wheel. Now it it just a carbon frame and shipping a wheel is only 10 bucks and my Karma is pure
