The title pretty much says it all. I’m interested in buying a set of American Classic 420 wheels. Specifically, I’m looking for these wheels with a Shimano / SRAM cassette body in the standard 700c size. My preference is for the 2009 model in black as I’m not all that crazy about the new (2010) spoke patterns. Whatever the year, I really would like them in black … silver and white just wouldn’t look right on my bike.

For those of you looking for the back-story (or updates), I’m finally back on the bike after a few years away from it. I’m trying to find a single “do it all” wheelset. I had a line on a set of babied Cosmic Carbones, but they slipped away and I can’t seem to find any others in that condition / at that price. In order to keep the price reasonable, I’ve decided to look at for these AC wheels. My plan is to continue riding as much as possible throughout the year. I will be doing a century ride in the fall as well as a few sprint tris to get back into the multi-sport scene. Since my budget isn’t huge, multiple wheelsets for all these endeavors are out of the question … I need one wheelset to cover all my bases.
As far as my weight loss goes, I believe I’ve leveled off, at least for the time being. I’m down 55 pounds this year (225 to 170) and I feel great. The first 50 pounds came off in three months (January through March) and the other five have come off in the last six weeks. I think I’ve found my “sweet spot” so to speak and given the past six weeks, I’m confident I can maintain this weight going forward. Thanks again for all the encouragement and well wishes - they have definitely helped me!
