Shopping for friend. She has 800-1000 max to spend on an entry level bike preferably in the IL, WS, IN area. Anyone have something?
She fits a 56cm Trek well but is open. Components and wheel quality are not a huge issue.

Is your friend looking for a road specific or a tri bike? I have a 57cm litespeed tachyon that has road drop bars with bar end shifters. I bought it used about a year and a half ago and it has been a great intro bike for me. I have stepped up to a nicer and newer litespeed since. It is in good shape with Shimano 600 components (what Ultegra was before it was called “Ultegra”). I was hoping to get $700 for it which would leave your friend with a few hundred bucks left in the budget to perform upgrades as she (or you) saw fit. Let me know if you are interested.
