Wrench question regarding MTB... help! :)

Hi All,

I’m making a custom 29er and was wondering for the seat-tube if I went with a 1& 1/2" tube, could I find a clamp-on front derailleur (or problem solving device) that would work on XT/XTR?

I think that that standard is 1&1/8.

you could go with the bracket type that mounts on the BB shell, the XT is FD-M760-E. Since it mounts on the BB, the seat post dia is irrelevant, however you need to add threaded bosses to which the FD will screw in. You can get an idea from the exploded view and service instructions.
