Wrench help on Octalink crank arms

trying to change a set of crank arms w/ Octalink bb, have both dust cap covers and 8 m screws removed, but arms won’t come off. sholdn’t they jsut slide off ? dare i break out the rubber mallet or is there a better way ? thanks/

It sounds like you need a crank extractor since they’re not self extracting, i.e. SRAM Red vs old FSA with an ISIS BB. Any decent LBS will do this for your for close to nothing or if you want to do it your self, the tool should be avail at your shop as well. If your doing anything else with the BB, remember to get those tools as well e.g. BB tool to take out your current BB, and external BB tool that fitts over the external cups allowing you to use a torque wrench.

Unless you want to be able to wrench you’re own bikes, just bring to our LBS.

yep, needed the little supplement that fits on end of extractor for it to pull off. Got them off and mounted new ones, Profile Design carbons, which didn’t snug up like i would have liked, but think they’ll be ok. Thanks to both of you all for repsonses.
