Would you still buy a Softride? Coy no longer producing!

Hi,

I am from Singapore and was planning on buying a Softride in an upcoming visit to the US. I have a bad back and rode a friends Softride and really like it. Problem is that I heard that the coy is no longer producing the bike although still “supporting” them.

Any thoughts on whether I should go ahead with the purchase or look at alternatives? (Titan Flex for example). Overall budget was $1800 and while you can get the Qualifier for that price now that the coy is no longer producing I am not so sure it is a good deal!

Any comments appreciated!

I would go with a Titanflex. I think the design is inherently more durable, and even if the company goes bust (God forbid…), I think you end up with a bike that can be maintained and serviced by a smart mechanic.

you won’t get a titanflex for $1800. I had the same thought as you and decided to just go for the Qualifier. Depending what size you are, this is a bike shop in Idaho that has 2 sitting around that it never could sell and was trying to get rid of them for in the $1350 range so at least it would be inexpensive. The guy’s email was petem@ecomail.org

I don’t have a qualifier (I have a Rocket TT7). but I think the beam is much lower maintennance. Try adamsoftride. PM him.

If you’re looking to buy a used one, I’m selling my size ML Qualifyer for $1000.
