I am one of those weird people who find the thought of my death and the funeral after a fun thing to think about. I am not afraid of death. I am going to die someday in someway and being all high school goth poetry about it and living in fear of the boogie and his space daddy is not doing anyone any favors so why not ponder your end.
I think about my funeral and try to find fun ways to have it because I HATE North American funerals. They are cold, boring, insulting and just plain terrible. I want my life celebrated with out some dude in a robe who didn’t know me tell my friends and family about god and salvation. Here is my latest idea.
Cut me up and cook all of my parts in super fantastic ways. Sale tickets and give people a chance to give ethical cannibalism a shot. Think about about it for a sec. I will have agreed to this with much gusto, a safe private place will be found for the diners and really skilled chefs will do the cooking. People get to try the great taboo and money will be raised to help special needs adults. Win win win in my opinion. Your thoughts?

No offense, but personally I’d worry about Mad Tibbs Disease:
I’m concerned about your meat quality. (literal meat, we’re talking about, to be super-clear, again). I’ve seen the fresh corpses of people who’ve died of old age, and, honestly, we’re not talking Grade A corn-fed veal, here. It’s stringy, gamey, disease-riddled. The usual kidney and liver failures at the end of the life make everything stink. So if you die of brain death in a glorious bike crash, and we get you on ice really quick, we can talk. If it’s when you’re 96 and have been slowly rotting in a home for a year, I’m just going going to stick with the tapas at the bar.
Personally, I have not been to a funeral in a long time that had a dude in a robe talking about salvation. Most have friends and family talking about the deceased and all the memories they have.
You want a fun funeral, find the Glee Episode with the funeral for Sue’s sister… Told my family thats how I want mine. If you can’t find it … think walking into Willy Wonka’s room where everything is edible…
But then again, remember. The Funeral IS NOT FOR YOU. So really what ever they want to help get past my departing is their choice.
