to never be caught?( sorry Dev!didn’t want to make title too long)
If you were sure to be never caught would you do it? I figure most AG athletes would not due to professional and civil standings and the risks inherent in being caught. BUT look at the pro ahtletes who actually believe that they will not get caught! Young athlete, or older athlete with a longer dream, and they get told that ‘this’ is the ticket to their success, and you begin to wonder if you would do it yourself, money, glory, possible historical status… not much when you consider all you get is a two year ban!

hell no… mainly because i respect my body too much to do that. why push yourself beyond limits that your body wasn’t meant to go? i think that the long-term effects would out-weigh the short-term achievements. plus, it’s dirty, rotten cheating.
NO, purely hypothetical question. IF you were guaranteed to not get caught- would you dope to improve performance, and possibly gain a Kona spot, AG world spot etc…?
and Paulo asked the question right back to you. assuming you are not a pro, you will not get caught, so would you dope? its not a hypothetical question, since age groupers are not going to get caught. please answer your own question. since you posed the question, you must at least be thinking about it…
to answer your question, no i would not dope, no matter what. i can say without batting an eye that i will never dope.
OK let’s asume there was absolutely no chance of long term effects, but you had a pill to do better with no ill effects!.. faster, easier race etc…still saying no?

I am not a pro, and not thinking about it in any way. It is purely a hypothetical question. I am merely wondering if people would do it to improve- and I am aware that AGers are not goingto get caught. I have been through the whole testing procedure in a previous sport… my opinions are well formed on this.

but i think things like the exist and they are not illegal… there’s stuff like multivitamins or recovox or endrolytes or whatever… the reason they aren’t banned is because they aren’t detrimental to your long-term health. i think that’s what separates doping products from non-doping products.
I am talking about illegal PEDs only- not GNC vitamins… this is a moral question.
Imagine a guy at the start line saying “Guaranteed faster time, no ill effects and nooone will ever know! Take this”
And the everlasting hatred of all your peers, sponsors, everyone you know, your family who supported you. But, yeah, aside from that, what’s the downside?
is glucosamine considered a glucocorticosteroid? my doctor says i should take it for a really bad arthritic toe which i have. does that mean i would have to get a TUE for it if i were to get tested? i can’t imagine it is very easy to get a TUE, is it?
Many things are not “proven” to have a long term effect = ProCrit for example. It will however get the hemocrit over the magical 49% level…What is the long term effect of infusing ones own red blood cells?
If you cannot empathise and debate then move aside… this is a common question often asked in sport science studies, which I teach.
If you want to be cynical then go ahead, but pleasebe careful not to cast shadows unnecessarily.
