I know that it’s pushing it posting this on the Tri board and not the Lavender, but the bike in question DOES have pedals, that’s my excuse. I found this on the Top Gear website of all places…
I wonder what kind of wheels and hubs were used to cope with 19G of acceleration up to +200 mph
I was wondering how the front end stayed down. Anybody have a clue?
all sorts of interesting questions about how he managed to do that safely over and over!

The “bicycle” is propelled with thrust, not by traction at the rear wheel. Though even if it was, pulling a wheelie is a matter of where the center of gravity is, the wheelbase and the rate of acceleration. I’ve gone right around 190 on a sportbike… no wheelies. I never felt comfortable doing them.
Yeah his center of gravity was pretty forward, almost like superman, and that wheel base was super long. What about the wind at those speeds on such a light bike? I’d imagine getting tossed around but I guess not…

Forget the speed, that balding mullet, my eyes…that which I have seen cannot be unseen.
Holy crap. Those tires were ultra skinny. Wonder what speed they are rated for. Granted its a short period of time for them to heat up but still. Jay Leno eat your heart out!
