I come back to Slowtwitch after a few days, see MANY posts on Alghero and think awesome slowtwitch is finally warming up to short course. And then most comments are about the controversy/rivalry (I agree with you it might be a great thing then) and romance between athletes. Carry on

I was actually REALLY looking forward to the menâs race in particular, but then Hayden DNSâd, Hauser went down on the bike, and Yee DNFâd so it wasnât exactly the race I was hoping for.
I thought the Brits provided great entertainment in the menâs race. Bentlty could work for monthy python.
Crocianis swim exit was one of the finest we have seen in a good while .
Goldfish Graf was not bad either, on the bike.
And vascos drafting on the run almost made tertch look like an undiciplined amateur. ( It was tertches undoing ,not being last for 50 m in the run ,that got her into trouble at the aid station lol with the same discipline as Vasco it would not have happened )
Lastly I enjoyed the portoguese method happiness at the finish line.

I still donât understand how Bentley fell going so slow in a U-turn with the camber helping you. The most bizarre fall ever.
I can understand the one at the corner that took out Hauser, Graf and co.
He couldnât have been going that slow
The chase pack of 5 were catching the main pack, until Bentley fell ( in fact. At the point of the fall. They were just 10 s off). If he hadnât fallen I think they wouldâve caught. Two things happened when Bentley fell. They lost vital seconds due to the fall, and around 5 (?) men, I think, became 4
you missed the point - have you seen where he fell? It was basically a standstill u-turn, he pretty much fell flat on the side, mustâve been going 10kph max.
I think as well theyâd have caught them, they had the momentum. Not that it wouldâve made any difference if Yee wasnât in running shape.
Doing everything he can to close that final 3-5s gap to the group so he was coming in probaly hotter than the others behind him. Looked like he may have slightly angled too close to the cone and potentially caused him to shift his weight slightly and then simply slid out.

and again when the pressure is on ,as it was in that race during the bike ,going max risk leads to mistakes. he tried to go a bit to narrow and oversteered a bit and lost the front wheel. maybe his tyre pressure was a bit too high ?, also would be interesting what tyre he used.
btw so am I blind ( quite possible ) but I do not see tertsch cleaning up the 2nd bottle.and I believe lehair said she could not get the the 2nd bottle as the guy holding it , was a tiny bit too far too the right ?
Lehair said she had eyed the third, as she was behind and couldnât reach well the second - Tertsch took first and third.

but a lot of people claim she took 2nd as well ( they say she cleaned up all bottles)âŚ
to be fair, even if she didnât clean them all up but she gets 2out of 3 using half bottle each, thatâs quite crap.

itâs pretty evident in the video - she takes the first - nobody takes the second because it was a couple steps behind and Lehair said she was going to take the third - and then she takes the third. Simple as.
