We had aspirations of going to a match or two, but the process to get tickets is so onerous and the prices so high that it’s just not worth the hassle or cost. Not to mention the absolute bunch of duds that are going to be there. Wouldn’t be worth going until the knock outs. I guess we’ll see if they sell out stadiums early on.
I’m hoping for empty stadiums so they can eat their greed.
I’m also going to save to go to a couple of matches in 2030. I’d much rather a Summer trip to Spain/Portugal/Morocco to catch some WC games.

So I watched part of the draw. Talk about dragging stuff out! And that was a lot more convoluted than expected with all the constraints. Not a bad thing I suppose as it’ll get some of the pre-event favorites and big guns into the knock out rounds where the real fun and drama begins.
As far as groups and hosts, IMO USA should make it out of group play, regardless of who comes out of the qualifier into that group. Mexico has an easier group than Canada and all hosts should come out of their group rounds. But anything can happen.
Tomorrow they announce which teams are playing at which venues on which dates. That’ll be the time to scope out ticket possibilities. Although with the prices for these things, watching on TV isn’t a bad option at all.

If your team doesn’t make it out of a group with 2 automatic qualifiers and the next 8 (of 12 groups) best placed 3rd place finishers, I think it’s time to take up another sport. Or dig up your grandparents and give them some football boots.
Personally I like seeing cocky favourite teams getting kicked out of tournaments in the group stages. See Argentina and France 2002, Spain 2014, Germany 2018.

Not the best draw for Canada.
The problem with the USMNT is we tend to play to the level of the competition.
In other words, we struggle against teams we should beat. So a mediocre draw could still be worrisome.
And there’s not a lot of time (in terms of games, events) until the WC for Poch to put that WC roster together.
Surely most of the recent games have been friendlies. Assume Canada, Mexico and US had automatic qualifications? It’s therefore very difficult to judge.
