My lovely wife earned a spot on Team USA for the World Championships. Considering she only started doing Tris 3 years ago, I am super proud of her!
It turns out there is in an open amatuer Olympic race the day before Worlds. The race is sold out, but I am trying to find a slot so that we can both race and have fun on the same race weekend in Germany. It would be very cool!
Anyone have an lead or an “in” or any ideas/advice on how to get a slot for this race? Thanks in advance for your help.
Sorry, no idea. Did not even know there was a race. I have to admit, I really do not fully understand
the schedule of events yet. Still just trying to figure things out like how to take my bike apart so it can be shipped.
When are you flying over? I plan to be there Weds morning. Guess a group is meeting wed at 4:30 in the hotel
to talk about some training together.
I agree the schedule is confusing. Best I can tell is there is a series of races on Fri/Sat/Sun. The Worlds race for the ladies is Sunday AM.
There is clearly an amateur race in both Sprint and Oly distances on Saturday. Thats the race I want to enter if I can. I also also found a web board, but its in German of course.
We are taking a family Vaca and flying Sunday night. We will rent a car and do some Autobahn cruising to scope out some neaby tourist traps.
Cool. Let me know what you find out about tourist traps. I have yet to decide if I would get a van,
or what. I am not planning well, just mentally working on getting on that plane. :o(

The Alster lake will also be the starting area of the Triathlon World Championships
and is only a three-minute-walk away from the hotel.
