World Champions' Smackdown at Muskoka

Between work, travel, family and doing my first ever 30 hour training week during a work week (let’s just say that I did not sleep a lot last week), I was a bit late getting this article on the Muskoka Chase done…and the details of the Smackdown between Sam McGlone and Craig Alexander are finally up on www.xtri.com:

Here is the direct link to the article:
http://www.xtri.com/features_display.aspx?riIDReport=4134&CAT=21&xref=xx and there is a nice photo gallery by Kevin Harrington at a-shotonsite.com. Hey guys, no hammering Sam McGlone and Craig for not having ST apporved aero positions, but fortunately, their seat heights are good  Cheers. Dev

Nice article Dev. This event is on my “to do” list, hopefully when the kids are older we can make a weekend of it.

That picture of Alexander on the run is awesome, the look of sheer concentration/determination on his face says it all.

“Up in the lead were Len Gushe, a physician and former top age grouper, still racing pro despite being a master’s athlete”

What do you mean despite being a masters athlete?

I really enjoy the Chase format especially as a MOP it’s nice to see the pros as they return on the run. We used to be able to see the pros on the bike on their return too but the new route took that away unfortunately. All in all, Muskoka is a great event.

Not that many men pros above 40 around. It is different for the women with Lori, Natasha, Smyers etc.
