Workstand for SOftride?

All,

Picking up my new softride in a couple of days. I was wondering what everyone uses for a workstand for their ride? I do a lot of the basic work at home and am concerned about using a regular “clamp” on the beam… Any suggestions?

TIA

I have an old qualifer and just sold a TT rocket. For the qualifer I clamp on one of the tubes and rotate the head of the workstand. The TT is a pain in the ass. Never figured it out. I leaned it against a wall and put some hooks in at the same angle my beam was set at to get some stability. I got tired of wrenching it. Either softride seemed to require more wrenching than mine and my wife’s road bikes put together. Great bikes but maintenance whores.

I have a Rocket TT and often use a friend/family member to hold it…gives me someone to “beech” at when things don’t go right.

Otherwise, I’ll just leave it mounted to a trainer (i.e. Computrainer) and work on it that way.

While I don't seem to have to take care of my Softride any more than my Cannondale per mile rode, I hang both from the rafters of my garage on straps. I started this with my Softie, because I had it first. It really has worked out well. I do all my own maintenance and have broken both bikes completely down to bare frame. I can elevate one side over the other, just about raise it over head, it works great.
