Woohoo, new bike!

Not a tri bike, not a road bike, not even a mountain bike…really. I just got a Salsa Fargo for next to nothing from a buddy who knocked up his wife. Tonight, I put lights on it, took it on the road for a bit, then ripped some single track. I cant stop laughing about this bike, its lots of fun. just thought I would share. This bike is the balls for commuting, I can ride dirt, road, whatever and since its a 29er, its nearly crashproof!!! never thought I would have 2 29ers

Wow, I gotta ad one of these to my collection, so awesome.

**Weight ** 27.3 lbs for Medium (18")
27.3 lbs …

LOL - rock on man!!! I never seen that…what did it set you back?

450.00
.

its pretty cool, its a bike that Iwould NEVER buy for the 2,000 price tag, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. it is a fun bike and with a full xt kit, it is sweet.

I am not an engineer, but the geometry looks like it is more apt to roll backwards.

whats with the hating…at worst, I got a full xt group and some other shit for 450.00. for what its intended for, it badass.

That bike is like an 83 Seville…so odd looking that it is good looking. I like it! 6 cage holders?

Hey that is a cool ride. I hope you really enjoy for the next three weeks before you part it out and post it in the classifieds. ;>)

$450??? That’s awesome…officially jealous!

Cool, never seen one of those before. Been eyeballing a Surly Long-haul Trucker to replace my old touring steed; might have to debate the 29er w/ myself now…

Cool Bike…perfect for those dirt fire roads around here! Also looks like a perfect urban commuter. Have fun. Just don’t put aerobars on it!

No hate involved. Just a casual observation b/c I’ve never seen that frame before. My comment was in jest.

I’ll give you an indication of my sense of humor… I was looking for a new suit and came across this: http://www.mensusa.com/tools.aspx?id=238

If you look at MTBR.com you’ll see that people are posting weights up to 33# for a hardtail 29er and swearing that they don’t notice the weight.

But back to this bike:

Did you get all three cages plus the racks and pump (are those bottle cages on the fork)? Once you ditch all of that it will be a blast to ride.

The website advertises six waterbottle cages. I only count five in the pic. If you didn’t get six you got ripped off.

just kidding. nice score. stay hydrated.

Nice Score on the Fargo!

Salsa makes some good stuff…I just got the following Salsa La Cruz cross frameset yesterday to build up into a fendered winter training “rain bike”. OX platinum tubeset for the front triangle and, the big plus, disc brakes for the rainy PacNW weather so i won’t be white-knuckling the descents like i did on my old cross-bike last winter!

That’s legit.

Go tear it up!

How do you like that stand vs the typical seat post grabber stand?
Is it stable?

mine dosent have racks and only has one cage. I Love it. right now, its my favorite bike!!!

Looks like number six can go where they put the pump.

Salsa makes great bikes including this ugly duckling.

Ride, Baby, Ride!
