Women’s team pursuit has been added to the olympics, along with a couple of other sprint events (men’s omnium, women’s team sprint). That should be really cool to watch, I love the team pursuit races, pure poetry and teamwork.

In fairness, a lot of the team pursuit riders will crossover to the road, so there will be a very minimal impact on the total number of athletes. The womens team sprint will increase the number of athletes by maybe 20 or so??
It is good that they are adding women’s events. There were not enough women’s events compared to mens, this evens it a little more. Maybe for 2012 there will be a women’s keirin!!
