Wolf TT Fork on P2K popping sound

Got my '05 P2K about a three weeks ago and have about 350 miles on it. Last weekend at mile 30 I start to hear a ‘tink, tink’ sound from the Wolf TT fork when I am not perfectly still with regard to center of gravity. Headset is tightened down pretty good and skewers are fastened down on front wheel too. If I press down hard while riding on the aerobars, the sound temporarily goes away, but once I let up, it ‘ticks’ again (if you tap your fingernail in the middle of the fork arm, that’s the sound). I checked for cracks and see nothing. Seems to be worse over rough terrain. Any ideas? And yes, I checked, the seat is not too high ;>).

I have gotten a similar popping sound on my P3. It was coming from the stem where it clamps the bars. I changed my stem from a Ritchey WCS to a Bontrager Race Lite (has a beefier face plate), and the sound went away, but I think I heard it again today, just not as pronounced as before.

I don’t know mine still hasnt come in. :\

Sound is still there. Tightened everything up again, but I don’t think it’s the stem/basebar joint. It really sounds like it’s coming from where the headtube and the fork meet at the bottom of the headtube. I was riding with a buddy and he asks me ‘what is that sound coming from the fork?!’ and I explain I just don’t know. Any other thoughts on what I haven’t tightened down or should check? Anyone else having this issue?

Maybe your cables and housing are bouncing around? Could be a cable tension issue.

I’d bet the sound is radiating from the wheels somewhere…maybe the hub…etc. Its not uncommon. Many times this can fool you into thinkng its the fork.
