Wireless computer on back wheel?

Anyone know if a wireless computer (specifically a FlightDeck) can be mounted for the rear wheel without any problems? I don’t know what the range is.

I want to avoid having another computer for trainer rides - the FlightDeck, HRM and tv remote control is enough to operate already.

I have a cycle computer mounted on the rear wheel of my trainer, but I had to locate the computer to my bottle cage to pick-up the signal. The handle bars or stem were too far and out of range. I managed to fabricate a mount for the cage. Works just fine, I only have to look down to see my speed or whatever I’m monitoring. I mount my HR monitor on my aerobars. Works fine for me.

Hmm, thanks for that. As I only have one bike for the trainer, road, and racing (gasp!) I’m trying to find a way to minimize “stuff” and rearranging when I switch from the trainer to the road. The display would be quick and easy to change back and forth, but the magnet and sensor adds that extra step. Hmmm…

Of course my favourite solution would be to get another bike! One day, one day…

I use a Cateye CD300DW. ~$150, rear wheel speed sensor doubles as the cadence sensor. Great for trainer rides. Wireless transmits all the way out to my aerobars, no problem (frame size 60). May interfere with older Polar HRMs, though.

Check ebay. I got mine for about $90 there. Has worked flawlessly.
