Wipperman Teflon?

I’ve been using an SRAM PC-69 chain for a while. I’m about the upgrade my frame, so I’m treating myself to a few new parts.

Does anyone out there use the Wipperman Teflon chain? Does the Teflon coating actually stay on the chain despite all the mechanical wear? The teflon coating on all my pots and pans seems to wear out quickly, and it’s not subject to anywhere near the abuse that a chain would suffer.

Thanks,

Ha. It would if my wife was doing the cooking.

I put one on my bike about 2 months ago. I tend to like to spin in the little ring and if I don’t shift properly (ie, shifting into small cog in back while in small cog up front) the chain rubs in the front derailuer and wears off the blue teflon coating. But other than that, I have found it to stay on and have been happy with the chain. So I would say user error would cause the teflon to wear off faster…as in my case.

Teflon or no teflon, it seems to be a pretty good chain. I picked up a couple on sale and the best thing I can say is that I don’t notice my chain while riding.

I also dig the blue. It is unique.
