Winter holidays

taking care of this early as last year before few homes left for rent (apart from those at $3000 a week…)

Suggestion for winter holidays that is…needs to be

-nice of course
-lots of outdoor stuff to do
-driveable distance from El Paso (10-12hrs max)

so far, I was thinking of

  1. SoCal as last year
  2. AZ (Tucson, Flagstaff…)
  3. San Antonio

suggestions?

Tignes, Val d’Isere?

Oh YEAH Baby!! Not exactly driving distance…but then maybe Colorado…

I really wanted to go to Lake Tahoe but it’s far.

well, if you come out here you will have riding partners for some epic miles, and of course, we have Palomar, I’m sure I could recruit Joe W. as well for some MTN training

I will be at a week long camp in the SoCal desert/mountains the second week of Dec however, not in town

is this area rideable in the winter (3-4wk of dec)? what town is close?
just to check where to find a home to rent (needs to be a home where dogs are welcome…)

Santa Fe, NM
.

SoCal is extremely nice in the winter. (Think Rose Bowl)

It’s SoCal - yuck! But, I’m not a fan…I vote AZ over CA.

Escondido is very close and pretty inexpensive, but Carlsbad is probably better for vacationing

I am about 60 mins south of Palomar mtn, in San Diego

It is rideable, unless we get a freak snowstorm

Tucson is fantastic in Dec. If you are planning this for training, it is more than fantastic!

Francois I have a friend with a house to rent outside of Tucson in Santa Rita at the foot of Helmet peak. It’s dog friendly. Chris is camping out at my house some for the next few months, email me to remind me to mention something to him. There is also a 25m pool about 150m from his house that you can use.
