Winter Cycling Jacket-Castelli /Rapha

I wore a Gabba2 during Norseman this past summer, and it was insufficient to keep out 39F heavy rain with strong winds. I was soaked. It’s just not very waterproof. It’s fine on dry days down to about 32F/0C if it’s dry.

Have to disagree from my own personal experience at Norseman with a Gabba2. Found it to be great in cataclysmic rain, wind, and hail (2014).

I’m jealous. I was wearing an aero helmet (for warmth, not aerodynamics), long-sleeve base layer, Gabba2, leg warmers, toe covers, shoe covers, and waterproof lobster gloves with two chemical heat packs in each one. That wasn’t enough for the 39F temps with heavy rain and wind. I dropped out about 45 miles into the bike because I was shaking so hard I couldn’t ride. I put my name in the lottery again this year–half of me wants to redeem myself and the other half is terrified of even trying again.
