He went above and beyond not just once but 3 times by running in smog so bad that it caused him to cough and blow black snot. By the third time he was actually used to it.
It takes real devotion to risk permanent lung damage and personal safety just to complete this challenge.

So the poor guy who had to take the SUV without seat warmers to the gym, then had to run on his not-favorite treadmill while listening to The Wiggles gets snubbed here? Jeez, it’s all politics, I tell you. This thing is rigged.
My most ridiculous run: commute to work, in the dark both ways, at -15 F (-26 C) with a bunch of wind chill. Face mask got so clogged with ice that I couldn't breathe through it anymore.
Still, wasn’t inhaling soot, running around a frozen fire station, or listening to The Wiggles. I aspire to run that ridiculously next winter.
