I have a chance to get an excellent deal on both helmets - which one would be best? I cannot try them on due to where we live being ages away from bike stores. A little worried about the lack of vents in the selector though
i would try the selector first as the tail configurations make it very versatile for different back types. it has 2 sizes where as the rudy project has only 1.
either way, those are the only 2 aero helmets id consider using.
the heat issue with helmets is pretty overrated. i use the rudy project wingspan with the vents closed, tail opened, and taped rear vents.

Wingspan is only available in Small/Medium…may want to try it on unless you know you have a small dome.
i have a 58cm dome and the wingspan apparently goes to 60cm? according to rudy project website…
if youre a 58cm the wingspan will definitely fit. but youll need a M/L in the selector.

The Selector Large fits better for me but my head size is ever so slightly above average. The largest size available in the Wingspan runs really tight and I couldn’t even put it on. So you should make sure the store has a return policy if you decide to get the Wingspan.

I’d probably blow up pics of both of them then try to figure out which fits you back shape better.
I have a wingspan, ride with a flat to very small hump and the wingspan isn’t the best choice for me.

I need to get another Selector since I damaged it in a crash (better than damaging my head, I guess) in the only race I used it this year.

youd probably do pretty well in the selector with the full tail or the specialized tt2 with all the vents taped and covered with a closed tail.
I wear a 7 3/4" fitted cap and was worried about the wingspan. They were at an expo with product so I tried it on and it fit great so I grabbed it. Anything bigger might be tight though as I have it all the way open.
