Which bike companies use a wind tunnel for their triathlon bike design? I don’t care about which use it for marketing, just strictly design.
CFD would probably be a lot cheaper during the design phase

Umm…I think the list would be much smaller for those who used a tunnel simply for “marketing”
The truth is, there are not alot of bike companies rolling in profit so much they could afford to drop useless cash on wind tunnel time just to say they were there. I think just about everyone who goes now uses it for design purposes. Companies who have made use of wind tunnel time that I know would be:
- Trek
- Cervelo
- Cannondale
- Fuji/Kestrel
- Felt
- QR
- Wilier (through John Cobb)
- Hed
- Scott
- Giant
- Griffen
- Blue Competition Cycles
- Argon 18
- Specialized
- Elite
- Jamis
- Orbea
…and that’s all I can think of hearing about right now. I’m sure there are others I’ve forgotten (as demonstrated by forgetting about Specialized until number 14 on my list). I’m also not sure of the European manufacturers, perhaps someone can add any insight into them.
Now… the debate that is all the rage is… even though they all use it for design, are they using it “properly”? ![]()
