Win a Pegoretti Road bike, and support grassroots bike racing!

Hi all-

My bike team, International Bike Centers/NERAC, is holding a raffle for a very nice Pegoretti road bike. Here’s the official announcement.

Enter for a chance to own one of the finest racing bikes in the world, Dario Pegoretti’s Love #3 and support grassroots American Cycling at the same time! All proceeds from this raffle go to support Team International Bike/Nerac; a Boston based Men’s and Women’s amateur Cycling Club. Team International Bike/Nerac competes in Category 2, 3, 4, and 5 bike races as well as mountain and cyclocross events across New England and the nation.
Up for raffle is one Pegoretti Love #3 bicycle built to Team Nerac/Outdoorlights specifications. This bicycle will be professionally sized to the winner’s specifications and comes equipped with Campagnolo Chorus components, American Classic wheels, Michelin tires and Bontrager handlebar, stem and seatpost. Built of oversize, custom-drawn Columbus Scandium tubing, the Love #3 is light, stiff, and comfortable.

I believe that the bike’s retail value is around $5000, yet tickets are only $5. It’s the perfect stocking stuffer, or Valentine’s gift  – the drawing will take place on February 15th, 2007. As indicated, sizing/fitting will be conducted through International Bike Center. Slowman/Dan has reviewed them before and the verdict was good - unfortunately I can’t locate his store review on ST.

Here she is. I’ve seen it in action, and it’s just beautiful.
Yes, yes, seat height/angle, wall colour, electrical outlet etc. Hey, it’s in the big ring.

If you are a local and want to stop by the store to check out the bike, and get into the game, ‘hard’ tickets will be available from the store by next week. Many of use will be doing Cyclocross Nats in Providence in December and tickets should be for sale there.

Thank you in advance for your support (and Dan, thanks for letting me post this on the main forum)! Happy Thanksgiving to all, and see you at the races.

$5 for a $5k bike? I’m in. Can you rig the draw for me  ? Seriously I’ll even buy two tickets if you do. Lets talk!

I’m in but only if you throw in an additional chain link if I have the winning ticket.

I like it
Chain link it is.

sorry i missed you yesterday JoB…had to bolt to a family function.

How was the race?

Are you racing anymore b4 Nats?

Kurt

→ were you watching the B start from the first corner? I saw a skinny guy in a CS outfit.

How was the race?

→ Ugh… didn’t have my head in it from the start, and that was a course to weed out the posers who don’t like to run… somewhere in the 50s in the B’s (about 90 starters). In short, I sucked hard. The 3:30 z2 ride I did this am was a cakewalk in comparison. Next time!

Are you racing anymore b4 Nats?

→ I’ll probably do the MRC cross in Wrentham on Sun 12/3, and am signed up for RI state champs/Verge on 12/9. You there?

thanks for the bump!
Josef

Do you know how many raffle tickets are issued?

sorry for the late reply, and to can’t say that i do. However, I can tell you that i went to the shop to buy a book of 25 tickets to put into xmas cards of clients and friends, and they nearly passed out

Thanks for the reply. I emailed them directly and their answer was that there was no limit but they expected to sell about 3000 tickets.

I better go sell some more tickets then

thanks for your interest, and the bump!

I’m in for three tickets, I better win. I know where you live now and will come looking for you if I don’t. Or maybe I’ll just not send you the stuff I said I would, which reminds me, I need to box that stuff up.

Thanks Brian! Come visit beautiful, 20-degree F Norwood, MA.

“What happens in Norwood, stays in Norwood.” They make T-shirts like that, I kid you not.

Did any of you guys win? I was hoping to find a fateful message on my voice mail, but I didn’t…

Nope, no new Pego for me. I went to the drawing (it’s my team after all) and saw it in person though - damn, that is one nice bike. Not sure who won it, didn’t recognize the name.

Thanks for playing! I appreciate you buying a ticket. Good luck next time!

Thanks for the update. Make sure you post again the link to the next raffle. They are fun!

What? WTF? You promised me that I would in. No new race wheels for you and I’m telling Sam that. Good job on Evan kicking ass at VOS bike race.

(((( hangs head in shame ))))

No race wheels? Dude, that’s cruel.

Thanks again for lending E those wheels. Surely helped with aerodynamics, and mentally.
