Seems like a pretty nice value for carbon fiber aerobars. I’m sure they’re not as aero as the Ventus, etc., but they’re probably better than what my bike came with. I’m indifferent to the UCI-legality but I like the adjustability, light weight, and internal cable routing. Has anybody had a chance to check these out in real life, yet?
Just saw the ad for them via Facebook. While I’m not too keen on the extensions, the price/weight are appealing. Not really in a position to drop any coin on a new setup, though, especially with how little I will likely be racing in 2012.
I have no prior owner experience with carbon aerobars but am looking to buy my first set. What is it that’s not impressive about them? Lets say vs the HED areobars which was what I was looking at until I saw these and the much lower price.
Vision basebar with HED clip ons be more aero, less expensive (if you shop around) and lighter. The overall height of this aerobar (from bottom of clamp mech to top of arm rests) is huge and double what you would get with other aerobars. I would have been more impressed if they went with an aerobar that allowed the extentions to be as close to the arms as possible instead of running them about 10 feet away.
Their claim of advanced aerodynamics just does not agree with my common sense.
My Vision basebar with HED aerobars comes in at just over 500g and I only paid $160 for both.
