Pan-cake flat, windy.
Will there be draft packs (it’s a trick question), what do you plan to do about it?

Sorry to be rude and answer your question with a question, but why is it OUR responsibility to do something about it? Athletes pay entry fees to race and should have an expectation for the RD or organization holding the race to provide sufficient provisions to eliminate cheating. If said RD or organization consistenly fails to provide those provisions (I think Eagleman is a good enough example), it is then up to the athlete to either tolerate the drafting or not participate at all.
stay home
.
I raced last year and will not be this year. So I’m doing just that!

Wow, an answer as to where the issue is. We as athletes just race what they give us and let the chips fall.

but but… it’s not supposed to be thaaaaaaaaaat windy…
Check back with me on Monday when I claim the wind was terrible…
Eat tons of asparagus the night b4. Piss on the bike as often as possible
Bro, Someones going to take a finisherpix, highlight all the people drafting in microsoft paint… Call them to the table on the forum. Belittle them and complain thats why they didn’t get a spot at worlds… Or even better why they finished 256 instead of 255…
In all seriousness, Eagleman is a big race with history, not to mention there are Kona slots on the line.
Unfortunately the nature of the course means some degree of “drafting” is inevitable.
I do hope the race officials do a good job and catch the blatant drafters.
Wish whoever is racing a safe and exciting race.
When they pass me, I will sit up. If I enter their draft zone, I will pass them. Thats what I plan to do about it.
Joe are you and your brother racing this year?
That’s my strategy.
We get a legit 19 seconds to draft in leap frog style. I’m starting at 7:45, wave 12 I think. That is a lot if people to leap frog.
My issue is with thd larger size groups. That can be a challenge big enough to ruin your day if you have to sit up long enough for 10-20 people to pass you. Or worse, having the unfortunate position of having to pass 10-20 people in a pack in 20 seconds.
If done correctly, legal drafting this course can be very fast and done well within the rules.
I haven’t been back here in 5 years and my how cambridge has changed!! It’s a modernized town now!

Not my brother this time but I am in again. You in too this year? Gonna bring that bad-ass-lookin Blue to Cambridge?
doesn’t sound nearly complicated enough. are you sure you are a slowtwitch person?
i am on the same plan. starting in wave 5 with the other old fogeys, so there will be a lot of people pass me. i just try to not get upset about them.
First time in a few years I am out. Achilles problems and to much going on. Just shorter stuff this year. Goodluck and punch that card Tommorow!!! Will be athlete tracking
