So what makes anyone think the media will still be embedded covering the carnage after we pull out?

What makes you think the media is embedded now?

Does this question assume that there will be a troop pull-out during the current admin? Just curious. Either way, no, a troop withdrawal, by itself, will not be seen as a victory. If there’s a withdrawal and total chaos doesn’t result, that might be seen as a vindication.

What? Who’s “we”? I ask because I read every day about how many Iraqis were killed in the latest car bombings, how many headless Sunnis or Shiites were found in a drainage ditch somewhere outside of Baghdad, how the Madhi Army’s fighting hard against Iraqi security forces, how many police were killed, etc., etc., etc.

What do you mean “we” hear “nothing” about the ongoing civil war?
