just wondering, after the whole lake placid thing- do you think louisville will sell out quickly?
we’ve got a group who was planning to sign up for florida, but after imusa, we’re seriously doubting we can all get signed up online. that leaves imoo and louisville for next year. i know imoo goes quick also… so that basically leaves us with louisville.
i don’t know how long it took to sell out last year, but it seems like these races are going quicker and quicker every year…
Seriously though, I think some of it will be contingent on what happens on race day and the buzz surrounding the race. If there is a lot of positive chatter about the course it will be a quick sell. If the temperature is as hot as some people have speculated and it is really tough going it may not go quite as fast.
Now, remember, the difference between “fast” and “not quite as fast” in terms of selling out an Ironman could be the difference between a day and 40 minutes…
so either way, it will prolly sell out relatively quickly.
I agree with Tom. With all the hype surrounding the temps, the water (condition and temp) and the hills, I think people may want to see some race reports first. Regardless of all the people claiming wetsuits are for wimps, aside from the Kona group not many people can say (or want to say) they did an IM with no wetsuit and then biked and ran in 90-100 degree heat. Naturally I hope it is a HUGH success!
