Why don’t we meet at mile 4 of the long course on Sat afternoon.

Don’t forget to bring sunscreen as that area doesn’t have much shade and is fairly exposed…

I’ll be there, we tried this at two previous races here in Hawaii and never had much luck. Mile 4 at what time?? I’m hoping that mile 4 is near transition, trying not to tire myself out to much for the olympic sunday.

With all the volenteer problems the mile 4 aid station could be run by sombody other then the ski team this year. That will be very sad it they boycot the race.

I’ll be down at the expo and registration sometime on Friday. I’m easy to spot, so say hi. Or, Redondo Vista H in the Golden Gate Tri Club encampment. Black Nissan truck. You’ll figure out which one. :wink:

sorry, not a joke, but we tried to get slowtwitchers together last year at the Keauhou hald Ironman and again this year at the Honolulu Tri (we didn’t try very hard though) and only got a few of us together. If we set a time it might work. I just don’t want to be running all over the place watching the half when I’m racing on Sunday although this should in no way influence a meeting place.

I’ll be with the Hawaii Crew. I wonder if we still have our huge “Aloha” banners??

Me and Marg (rambo) will be there through the weekend, look out for a guy with a blue hoodie with A5 on the front and a cute young lady by his side, Might also have a beer in hand, if that helps

I KNOW the meeting up isn’t a joke. The meeting AT MILE 4 part is what I was talking about.

  • Mile 4 is out of the way.
  • With wave starts, people who are racing the LC will be coming through mile 4 for many hours.
  • This is where the guys are hoping the topless chicks are.

We had a nice group at IM AZ.

Part of the problem at WF is that it’s so spread out and you really don’t want to come down the hill too many times.

I am riding my tri bike in on Friday morning.

Someone pick a time and place. Cathy mentioned the expo. Meet at the expo (where, cervelo tent?) at 2pm?

I am going to do a training ride on the course leaving at at 7:30. Anyone not racing that can get to the top of nasty grade in under 2:30 can come along. I will be hanging out there all day tanning. If you want the short route a buddy of mine (who is doing the Oly) is riding backwards on the course to meet me up there.

I will be in my typical cowboy hat. Probably wear my cutoff jean shorts and stained wifebeater too. Bring back my old racing outfit to spectate in :slight_smile:
