Wildflower results (1)

Just got a chance to check the Wildflower results. And the first thing that strikes me is Simon Lessing’s amazing performance.

The guy ran a 1:13:38!

Man, that is wicked fast, especially after the 3rd bike split, pretty amazing. In the battle between the best cycling, Sindballe, and the best runner, the runner won. All is well in the world

Other notes:

  • Sindballe proved once again he’s one of the strongest and most consistent cyclists out there.

  • Pretty solid race by Clas Bjorling, “he’s improving”.

  • I’m impressed by Normann’s race, he’s one athlete that is definitely better at IM distance than HIM.

  • Pretty disapointing race by Cyrille Neveu and Luke Bell, maybe something happened to them on the bike (flat?).

  • Samantha McGlone positively kicked ass, proving that her result at Ralph’s wasn’t a fluke. Her IM debut should be very interesting.

  • Three Team Timex girls got into the top 10: Tina, Kim and Lisbeth. Pretty cool!

Simon Lessing is constantly kicking butt at every distance. It will be interesting to see what full he chooses to qualify for Kona at.

I can’t believe your just now picking up on Sam McGlone. Her star started rising last year at some of the longer races. I don’t know what to say other than I’m shocked, for once, at something you said!

I think he should do a race like Buffalo Springs to qualify. Last year doing Kona after qualifying at Lake Placid is probably a tough combo. In general it is tougher to qualify at a Half because there are fewer slots but I don’t think Mr. Lessing would have trouble snagging a slot there. If he does a full I say do CDA to have another month or so recovery over what he had from Lake Placid last year. Just my opinions.

Pros have to qualify at a full ironman.

he’s on the start list for cda, for whatever that’s worth.

Thanks I did not know that. Does anyone know which full Ironman race is on Mr. Lessing’s schedule. Stateside or Europe?
