I’m planning to head down to Wildflower this year with the family. They are not exactly the camping sort, so I’m looking for some nice lodging for the weekend. According to the map, the Lake Nacimiento Resort looks to be the most convenient. Has anyone stayed there in prior years? What’s the resort like? What’s your estimation of a “star rating”, amenities, etc. Their website appears to be down, and there’s no info that I’ve been able to find on the web about them.
It’ll be my first year there, so if I understand right, all the competitors (well, mostly all) camp right there in the park at the campgrounds? Makes for a fun night sleep for competitors on the hard ground…I like it, makes the sport a little more hard core. I can’t sleep the night before races due to nerves anyways, so I’’ have an advantage with everyone else not sleeping well with me!
We stayed at Oak SHores several years back. We rented a house there. It was pretty nice. About a mile from the road that goes down into the lake. Pretty convenient and away from the hubub.
