In the market for some new road rims, I already have 28/24 hole rubs coming so now to find the rims that they are going to go in. I want wide clincher rims with an aluminum brake track. And I prefer something that is not deep that would require valve extenders. Are the Heds and Flos my only two options?
I couldn’t find a link to the 25s on the site, I could only find the 23s, after i posted this i realized they were 23s so, right now, i’m leaning towards the flos.
I was just heading over to WB to see if they had them. You beat me too it, but it looks like they only have 28/32 which would be awesome except I already have hubs on order.
For 23 and shallow, it’s hard to beat the Pacenti’s. The Hed Belgium C2 ia a little more expensive. The C2+ at 25 is what I’m having built. The Hed advantage is that they can be run tubeless if that interests you.
The Stans Alpha 340 mentioned above is not a wide rim. It’s 20.

Whoops, I was looking at the depth instead of the width, edited. I like the Pacenti rims I’ve got currently, though they’re far harder to mount a tire than the HED rims.
And the wheel builder I use loves the Pacenti’s. Says they’re the roundest most true rims out of the box. He wanted me to use them, but I want this wheel set to be road tubeless. And since I’ll use them for training wheels, the 25 width will at least be close to my 28 race wheels.
