maybe he just hired the same sandbagging preparator that Lance uses…
they are both told what kind of BS to give the media and they go for it, and have fun.
To be honest he does go on to say what he needs is racing kilometers rather than training. He is not saying he is “overtraining”.
To be honest, Richard, I knew that. I’ve been in an oblique humor mood this morning, and it just struck me as funny to twist his words a bit…in honor of the now-annual Lance vs. Ullrich debate leading up to the Tour…
It’s between the ears! Lance owns him mentally!
Sorry, hard to read sarcasm.
How much beer gut is he carrying? If he somes in trim and fit, Ullrich has a shot.
Reports indicate Ullrich is more fit than ever at this point in the year. I, like Francois, would rather hear that he’s finally gotten his BRAIN fit…fit for attacking Lance.
I think Jan has a ton of pressure to perform well at the Tour de Suisse after Vino’s performance up the Vonteux and his good time trialing this year.

Frankly, I think Ullrich had/has the talent to take out the Giro/Suisse or Dauphine/Tour triple header…but he will NEVER win the Tour until he well and truly decides he can beat Lance.

Virtually mirroring the sentiment from last year…people were pointing to pictures of Jan and how ripped he looked, “damn, he’s got veins on his cheeks for chrissakes, he is super lean”…and we all saw what happened.
You’re correct…if his brain is fit, he’ll do fine.
