Why so much cyclocross coverage?

Why is there so much cyclocross coverage on a triathlon site? If I need this info I can go to cyclingnews.

Poor Herbert. First he gets hammered for writing about Gomes, and now CX coverage is taboo as well, apparently.

There’s not that much going on right now in triathlon (offseason). A lot of the forum talk is about pure cycling. CX is awesome. Why not?

It is the best slideshow of the women’s race I’ve seen. If you don’t like it, it’s not terribly hard to not click on the article.

I agree. Nothing but Triathlon discussions all summer and Crossfit the rest of the year.

Well said. Personally, my late friend David was a team sprinter who got me into cycling even though he was a big CX guy. Just playing soccer and getting into cycling was enough to get me interested in triathlon, but ever since getting on a bike I’ve been interested in CX. Too bad OP is such a sourpuss. Did my first CX race last year in his honor (about 4 months after his passing) and it was an absolute blast. In fact, I rode that bike to work today.

Again, I am sorry to disappoint our readers. Lesson learned. I should have gone bike riding instead.

CX is about as much fun as you can have on a bike.
takes pretty much all disciplines of cycling… add a little running…throw in some beer…whats not to like?

Plus our site is not called triathlonthis.com or similar.

May I suggest some coverage on field Lacrosse, saw a game this past weekend lots of running looks like great cross tranning also  (there fixed)

No one is holding you hostage. The door is at the top of your browser window - the little X. Don’t let it hit your ass on the way out.

Now you’re just being ridiculous  ← Can’t get mad I put the winky face up. Oh and the 2 winners are 2 of the best cyclists in the world. We could all learn a thing or a dozen from watching them.

Fixed it for ya

I actually am glad you can get some happenings/news that aren’t 100% triathlon related all of the time. It’s still somewhat related, no? Also, the tone/angles of what’s covered will tend to vary because ST covers mostly triathlon, so they may bring a different perspective to it than what you may find in a traditionally cycling-only outlet.

Hostile crowd, kinda fun to stir the pot on Monday, I guess I am a little tired of cyclocross “hipsters”

There, made you sticky. Thanks for contributing.

And here by the way is the offending story.

The men’s story is yet to be posted.

Not hostile at all. I was just helping you by giving you directions.

To make triathletes jealous of their flying mounts and dismounts.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, not more attention on cc

HA HA, well played, looking foward to men’s coverage;)

I really like my tri bike, and I follow triathlon coverage a fair amount.
I really love my road bike, and I follow road racing coverage hardly at all.
I love my cx bike more than a crow loves peanuts, but I haven’t the slightest interest in cx coverage.

None of which is particularly relevant to the coverage that ST does/doesn’t provide. I just thought it a mildly interesting comparison.

Great stuff, thank you.

Sincerely,
A cyclocross hipster.
