Why so little wetsuit info?

That is what bike manufactures like to hear! But the difference between a fancy aerobike, and a normal road racing bike with clip on aerobars in the real world is not that big for the slow folks. Wetsuits are a way different story.

Agreed entirely. What I said just came out wrong. I didn’t mean that a poorly fitting wetsuit is a good choice by any means. But a tri wetsuit that doesn’t fit perfectly will probably still swim faster than a surf wetsuit, which isn’t designed for swimming. At least in my experience. The material in a surf wetsuit is just too stiff, and caused me serious shoulder fatigue, despite a good fit. But of course a properly fitted triathlon wetsuit is really the only way to go.

Anyway, what would you like to know about wetsuits. Fire away? I’ll see if I can help.

  1. Does this rubber make my butt look big?
  2. Is “double-bagging it” a bad idea? They told me no in high school health, but rules can change.
  3. Will this wetsuit compensate for the fact that I can’t swim an 800 straight in a pool, much less in open water?

Black is slimming - everyone looks better in a wetsuit!

The rule is “no” here as well - you are only allowed a maximum thickness of neoprene of 5mm. Not sure if this thickness impacts on the pleasure of wearing a wetsuit or not!

It will help a bit. I’ll try my good friend Tom Price’s hard-ass approach here - get you lazy butt to the pool and start swimming!

Hello,

Emilio here. We make great wetsuits called T1. What can I answer for you?

Hi Emilio,

The 2 piece design is interesting as it may be easier to find something that fits my body.

Where in Toronto can I try one on in a pool before buying though?

Thanks
Mike

we have no dealers in toronto, but www.trigeeks.ca will ship to you and we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. i can get you fitted properly, with a few measurements and recommend a size to you. send me the following to my email address below:

HEIGHT
WEIGHT
CHEST (circumference measured at the nipple line) IF YOU ARE MALE
BUST (and cup size) IF YOU ARE FEMALE
WAIST (circumference measured at the belly-button line)
HIPS (circumference measured at the widest point, not just at your hips)
AGE

I’ve got a DeSoto and it’s GREAT! I didn’t even so much as try the thing on before IMC last year and was comfortable the whole time - fit perfectly (and I went by what they recommended for fit).
