Why no creds to this kid?

As I was browsing the Silverman site, I noticed in the results that someone in the 16-19 (!) age group finished the race. I searched the forums and there is very little mention of this now 17-year old.

He has already finished a CaliforniaMan in 12:14, along with a double century, and the death valley marathon, with times that many here would be jealous of.

ST doesn't like people who make Iron distance races seem easy to finish.Poor kid won't get any credit here until he contracts a disease and then comes back from near death to race or loses a limb and crawls to a 16:59:59 IM finish with Mikey screaming hysterically."You are an Ironman"!!!!!Just isn't acceptable here for some young punk to show up all those hard training, dedicated,I've sacrificed so much to be here, Ironman types. ; )

I give him credit. I have to wonder how healthy that is for a 17 year old but the kid is good. Amazing to be that young and have that dedication.

If he would have carried his parents across the finish line then he would be more popular.

If he rode a Cervelo and rolled his parents across the finish line he might get a forum named after him.

That’s hilarious.

Anyway, reminds me of this 17 year old at the Grand Columbian that finished that iron distance race after doing some marathons. Didn’t swim at all 3 weeks before the race. Really. I wrote a short blog on it. Kid is awesome.

Good for him, but I thought you had to be 18 to enter IM races. Is that just a WTC rule?

Thank's for the info on the kid in the Grand Columbian Iron. Many Iron-newbies could learn from his super positive, laid back approach to Ironman.Sevans and triathlete37,you dudes crack me up.Very funny replies.
